Before & After Care

MICROBLADING CARE

What you need to know…

Properly prepping the skin and following the aftercare instructions will aid in achieving the best results. The eyebrow area must be healthy, strong, non-sensitive, and non-irritate prior to appointment.

  • No antibiotics 2 months prior to appointment.

No retinol products, acne treatments or salicylic acid 4 weeks prior to appointment.

    No botox 3 weeks prior.

No saunas, tanning or intense Sun Exposure 1 week prior.

No deep exfoliation 2 weeks prior in brow area (ex. Chemical peel).

Do not take Fish Oil or Vitamin E 1 week prior (natural blood thinners).

Do not wax/tint/perform electrolysis 1 week prior to procedure.

Arrive with a clean face, no heavy creams or sunscreen day of procedure.

You cannot be pregnant or breast feeding.

In order to avoid excessive bleeding and poor colour deposit:

Do not drink alcohol 24 - 48 hours before your tattoo.

Do not consume coffee or any caffeine day of procedure.

Do not take an aspirin or ibuprofen for pain relief (this thins the blood).

  • Day 1-2: Relax

For the first 48 hours do not wash the brow area. Make sure to only apply ointment with clean finger tips or clean q-tip 3-5 times a day for normal skin, 1-2 times daily for oily skin. We recommend Aquaphor ointment as it is non-reactive for most clients. Vaseline can be used as an alternative if you are allergic to Aquaphor.

    Day 1-3: Absorb

Press area dry with a gauze or paper towel (do not use a tissue) to absorb any excess fluid prior to reapplying ointment. This will help prevent scabbing as much as possible.

    Days 1-10: Moisturize

Apply a dime size amount of ointment with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area. Be sure not to over-apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay the healing process. The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin when applied. Always make sure ointment is applied on dry skin and never wet or damp!

    Days 3-7: Wash

Wash daily to remove bacteria, build up of product and oils, and dead skin. (no need to worry, this does not remove the pigment). Gently wash your eyebrows each morning and night with water and an antibacterial soap. With a very light touch, use clean fingertips to gently cleanse the eyebrows. Rub the area in a smooth motion for 10 seconds and rinse with water ensuring that all soap is rinsed away. To dry, gently pat with a clean paper towel, gauze or cotton pad. Do not use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or aha), or exfoliants.

    Important information for showering:

Once you are able to wet the procedure area limit your showers to 5-8 minutes so that you do not create too much steam. Keep your face/procedure area out of the water while you wash your body, then, at the end of your shower, wash your hair. Your face should only be getting wet at the end of the shower. Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the procedure area. Do your best to avoid soap or water running over your brows other than the initial cleanse.

  • No topical makeup and sunscreen on the brow area for 10 days.

No scratching or picking the brows.

No long hot showers for 10 days, limit to 5-8 minutes.

No use of acid or manual exfoliants.

    No use of any topicals.

No sweating in brow area for 10 days.

No swimming or using saunas for 10 days.

No major UV exposure or tanning for 4 weeks.

No acne products or hydroxy acids.

    No laser light therapy.

    No facials for 30 days.

No threading, waxing or removal products.

No facials, botox, chemical peels or microdermabrasions for 4 weeks.
