Frequently asked questions

MICROBLADING

  • Microblading is a form of semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing that creates natural, beautiful eyebrows. However, unlike traditional tattooing, which uses a machine, microblading artists apply each hairstroke with a handheld microblade. This produces a very fine line that resembles real hair. Each individual hairstroke is hand drawn by the artist and blended in with the client’s existing eyebrow hair. It’s perfect for people who have little to no hair or those who want to define, darken or reshape their eyebrows.

  • Microblading lasts 1 to 3 years for most people, before they usually need a touch up. This can vary depending on the clients skin type, lifestyle, and how well you care for the cosmetic tattoo area.

  • Most clients report little to no pain, but pain tolerance varies from person to person. A topical numbing cream is applied prior to beginning microblading procedure. Numbing gel is then applied throughout the procedure to keep you comfortable.

  • It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. We revisit our plan during our consultation where we discussed your brow goals, brow references and desired brow style/shape. We then map the brows according to your facial structure with the golden Phi ratio of balanced proportion. Once you approve the brow shape and pigment color, the procedure takes about two and a half hours to three hours. This entire session takes a total of 3-3.5 hours.

  • The healing process can last anywhere from 7-10 days. During and after the procedure, temporary swelling, redness, and/or itching may occur. Eyebrows can look up to 40% darker and 10-15% thicker during the first 3-5 days of healing. Day 4-5 you may experience peeling or flaky skin, do not pick or pull as this can cause the procedure to heal patchy. Loss of pigment and change in intensity of color is possible if scabbing occurs. Day 10-14 your microblading will look like it has disappeared, this is completely normal, and the color will start to reappear after 2 weeks.

    • Sweating and exercising

    • Using harsh cleansers on your brow area

    • Bath towels, tissues, or wash cloths on your face

    • Harsh scrubbing

    • Long, hot, steamy showers

    • Direct contact with the shower head

    Swimming, pools, jacuzzis, saunas

    Sun Exposure

  • The professional pigments used are formulated with the highest pigment load to ensure the absolute best healed results with 80-90% retention and heals true to color. Most importantly all pigments are vegan-friendly and cruelty-free.

  • We require you to send us photos of your eyebrows via email PRIOR to booking to ensure you qualify for an appointment. This will be best mentioned/discussed during our virtual consultation. Previously tattooed and microbladed eyebrows must be nearly invisible. Scar tissue associated with previous tattooing/microblading or tattoo removal may affect pigment retention. Please email clear photos taken in natural daylight, and no filters please. We will need a portrait photo with a clean face and one of each eyebrow. All previous work will be considered a NEW appointment. We can only work over tattoos that are barely visible.

lamination & tint

  • Brow lamination typically retains its desired effect for 6-8 weeks.

    • Improved Shape: Brow lamination helps in achieving a more defined and groomed eyebrow shape. It can straighten or redirect the hair's growth pattern, making it easier to create the desired arch or style.

    • Long-Lasting Results: The effects of brow lamination typically last for several weeks, often up to two months. This means you can enjoy well-groomed brows without daily maintenance.

    • No Daily Styling Required: After brow lamination, you won't need to spend time every day styling or applying eyebrow products to keep your brows in place. They stay in shape, looking polished.

    • Fuller Appearance: Lamination can give the appearance of fuller brows by directing the hair in an upward direction. This creates a thicker and more fluffy look.

    • Low Maintenance: It reduces the need for regular eyebrow maintenance, such as trimming or using eyebrow gels, which can save time and effort.

    • Non-Invasive: Unlike microblading or other semi-permanent makeup procedures, brow lamination is non-invasive and does not involve needles or pigment.

    • Suitable for Various Brow Types: Brow lamination can benefit a wide range of brow types, from thin and unruly brows to those with downward hair growth patterns.

  • Brow lamination, when performed correctly and by a trained professional, should not damage your brow hair. The process involves the use of a specialized brow lamination solution that softens the hair and allows it to be molded into the desired shape. This solution is typically gentle and should not harm the hair if applied according to the recommended guidelines.

  • Ingredients:

Stain: Stain typically uses synthetic or chemical dyes to color the eyebrow hairs. These dyes are often faster-acting and may provide a wider range of color options.

Henna: Henna, on the other hand, is a natural plant-based product derived from the henna plant. It is known for its staining properties and is considered a more natural alternative.

    Color Results:

Stain: Stain often produces more immediate and intense color results. It can be customized to achieve a specific shade.

Henna: Henna tends to provide a subtler, more natural-looking color that is often reddish-brown in tone. It may require a longer processing time to achieve the desired shade.

    Duration:

Stain: Stain typically lasts for a shorter duration, usually up to a few weeks.

Henna: Henna generally offers longer-lasting results, often up to several weeks or even a few months, depending on your skin type and aftercare.

    Application and Processing:

Stain: Stain is often applied quickly and has a shorter processing time, making it a faster option.

Henna: Henna usually requires a longer application and processing time because it needs to sit on the skin and hair for an extended period to develop its color.

    Ingredients and Allergies:

Stain: Some individuals may be sensitive or allergic to the synthetic ingredients in brow stains, so it's important to conduct a patch test first.

Henna: Henna is generally considered safer for most people because it is derived from a natural plant source. However, allergies to henna can occur, so a patch test is still recommended.
